Who I Am
I am an autistic, disabled advocate, consultant, trainer, dancer, theatre practitioner, and Equine‑Assisted Learning (EAQ) facilitator. My work is rooted in lived experience and a deep belief that every person deserves the chance to thrive, be understood, and feel valued. I bring together professional expertise, creativity, and compassion to support individuals, organisations, and communities to build more inclusive and accessible environments.
My Story
Butterfly Hope was created to bring together all strands of my work under one cohesive identity. The organisation includes advocacy, consultancy, training, research, EAQ, and creative practice. These areas are not separate; they inform and strengthen one another.
Hope Unfolding is the creative branch of Butterfly Hope. It focuses on dance, theatre, choreography, and movement‑based learning. This branch provides a clear identity for the creative and performance‑based work while remaining fully integrated into the wider mission of Butterfly Hope.
My work is shaped by lived experience, professional training, and a commitment to universal design. I aim to challenge assumptions, promote understanding, and empower people to advocate for themselves in ways that feel right for them.
My Approach
My approach is gentle, structured, and grounded in dignity and respect. I work collaboratively, taking time to understand people’s needs, communication styles, and access requirements. I believe in creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and able to grow.
Across all areas of my work, I focus on:
- Building trust and connection
- Listening deeply
- Using creativity to support learning and expression
- Embedding universal design from the start
- Empowering people to advocate for themselves
- Honouring lived experience
My Values
Values: balance, Justice, faith, autonomy, wisdom, community, creativity, determination, honesty, openness.
How My Values Shape My Work
My values influence the way I design sessions, communicate with clients, and create accessible environments. They guide my commitment to universal design, my focus on empowerment, and my belief in the importance of community and connection.
I believe that creativity is a powerful tool for change. Through movement, storytelling, and expression, people can explore identity, build confidence, and develop new ways of communicating.
